Goals
Little Mountain Brass Band is a recreational, non-auditioned band,
and although it does not participate in brass band competitions, it has
performed in a number of band festivals.
For musicians, it offers a place where:
-
those graduating from high school bands and youth orchestras can continue to
play
-
they can start playing a new instrument:
for example, LMBB has had a violinist and a trumpeter playing baritones,
flutists and a clarinetist playing cornets, a cellist playing trombone,
a violinist and a trumpeter playing Eb horn
-
they can learn and enjoy playing brass band music
-
new musicians can learn and enjoy playing in a friendly, comfortable ensemble
environment: new musicians in LMBB's Green Band
division range in age from 15 to early-70's
-
they can resume playing an instrument if they've been away from playing
for a few (or more!) years
